| This year marks the 7th Annual Gift Basket drive for Women’s Shelter. Through donations and with the assistance of many volunteers last Christmas we helped women throughout Etobicoke, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and North York receive a gift during the holiday season.
In total 835 gift baskets were delivered to 30 different shelters along with boxes of non-perishable food and supplies. A gift is a luxury that many of us take for granted during the holiday season but means so much to these women. It takes a community to raise awareness and to take action against all forms of violence.
This year we hope to surpass last year’s numbers and our goal this year is 1,000 gift baskets. You can help through volunteering your time or by donating unused, unopened toiletries, cosmetics, giftware, bath & beauty products or other items appropriate for a gift basket. They are then beautifully wrapped in gift baskets and delivered during the holiday season. Baskets, cellophane, ribbon and basket stuffing are also in need.
